Ministries

VBS

FBCD offers an annual summer vacation Bible school each year in June for children who have completed grades pre-K though 6th grade.
For more information on this year’s VBS, please see this link.

Baptist Men

Baptist Men assist churches in ministering to the total man, by nurturing him spiritually, emotionally and scripturally to become a man with a Christ-centered mission. FBCD’s Baptist Men’s group meet every first Saturday morning of the month at 8:00 AM to plan and carry out missions in the church and in the community.

Baptist Women

The heart of our Baptist Women’s group, called the L.I.G.H.T. Group here at FBCD, is missions. The L.I.G.H.T. group focuses on praying for missions, engage in mission action and witnessing, learning about missions, supporting missions, developing spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, and participating in the work of the church and the denomination. Our Baptist Women work hand in hand with our Girls in Action.

Senior Adults

Our Senior Adults group meets every second Saturday for good food, good entertainment, and good fellowship.

Sunshine Committee

The Sunshine Committee was formed to reach out to families in our community that are in need of a smiling face and a willing ear. We bring a smile to members and non-members of First Baptist Church Decherd that are brought to our attention by many sources. Our purpose it to bring God’s love and witness to them. We also look for special needs that they may have and bring these to other committees such as the Brotherhood for physical construction needs, the Benevolence Committee for financial assistance, and the L.I.G.H.T. Group for other needs.
