First Baptist Church Decherd is a loving, caring church in the heart of Decherd that is ready to help you grow in your walk with God. We are located at 703 Broad Street in Decherd, Tennessee (37324). Our telephone number is (931)967-6447. Our office is open Tuesday through Friday, except holidays, from 8 A.M. to noon each day.
We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and the Duck River Baptist Association.
We have Sunday School classes for all ages. We currently offer a nursery, pre-school and kindergartners class, 1st to 3rd graders class, 4th to 6th graders class, a 7th through 12th grade youth class, and Adult I to IV classes, as well as Ladies I and II classes , and a Men class.

Discipleship training is from 5 to 6 PM each Sunday night where you will train to be ‘fishers of men’. Children classes are offered for children in 1st through 6th grade. We also offer a youth class and adult class each Sunday night as well as part of our Discipleship Training.
Our music department is headed by Music Director Robin Smith. Our choir presents several specials and cantatas each year. The adult choir accompanied by Doris Hill playing the piano. In addition to our choir, we have the Main Street Singers composed of Katelyn Smith, Pete Williams, Christopher Smith, David Richey, and Robin Smith. This group of singers sing at area churches, schools and civic organizations and events.
Our youth department is lead by Bro. Bruce Jones and is for youth in grades 7 to 12. Our youth meets for discipleship training on Sundays at 6 PM and for Bible Study on Wednesdays at 7 PM. From youth retreats to community service, our youth is an excited group ready to be ‘fishers of men.’
